Testify!

The word testify means to provide evidence of or to make a statement of truth. I read 聽the poem “TESTIFY” for the first time 12 years ago. I was so impacted by the words that I immediately committed it to memory. I don’t remember where I saw it, nor do I remember the author. But I decided that by memorizing it, it would be a constant reminder to me that my choices, decisions and my actions would testify louder that any words I could possibly utter. I want my聽life to speak for me.

I’m far from perfect, but I definitely try to allow my Faith to govern my actions…and this poem most certainly sums it up.

testify poem

I hope that those words will also inspire you.聽Even if you’re not religious, our life’s action makes a statement of truth.

On another note:

Like many of you, this month has been extremely busy. We’ve been traveling almost every weekend and between the classroom activities and holiday events, in addition to my normal day to day… I can barely keep up. Despite my best effort, my blog posting, reading, commenting and responding have been irregular at best. Having said that, I’ve decided to go on an official blogging vacation for the rest of the year. I do, however plan on posting on December 23rd for the Holly Bloggy Christmas Party sponsored by Joi and maybe a quick Merry Christmas/Happy New Year post.

I’ll hopefully be seeing you all around the social media scene.

  • What does your actions say about you?
  • Is your blogging schedule being affected by the “busyness” of the holiday season?

I LOVE this poem and have pinned it! I want my life to speak for me as well, this is an awesome expression of it and inspirational for areas we are lacking in 馃槈 I pinned it for a constant reminder. I’ll work on the memorization thing when it’s not so busy! YES, the holidays are putting the pressure on heavy!

Enjoy the holidays with your peeps! We will see you on the 23rd and on social networks :)

I had a mom-freak-out moment this past Friday. Totally spazzed and said some things I shouldn’t have. Those moments are few and far between, but when it comes to patience with people, my personal testimony still needs some work. Great post!

Love this Hope!! So true my friend, so true! No one will want to hear the Gospel, or anything else for that matter, from us if our actions don’t line up with our words! Thanks for this reminder my friend! I’m pinning this onto my “Quotes I Love” board. A RESOUNDING YES, to feeling the effects of the busyness of the holidays. This week’s “DYWW” will be my last post until January 6th. I’ll see you on Monday over at Joi’s place! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!! <3 <3

I hadn’t seen this poem, Hope, but what an impact! Thank you for sharing it! I hope my actions say good things about me…I think for the most part they do. But I know I can improve too…and I will strive to do so in the new year. I’ll be blogging a little less through the end of the year and trying to get myself set for a more organized year next year!

Brilliant poem and it speaks volumes. I’ll try to memorize it too, it’s well worth bringing it to mind every now and again. And I hope that my life testifies the truth about me too.

I can just imagine how busy you are but make sure you DO come back to share with us those lovely posts. In the meantime, seasonal greetings, enjoy the festive period and don’t eat too much as you know you’ll be complaining when those calories hit the body and won’t leave. I’m speaking from experience, ha ha ha.

I love the words in this poem Hope! Our actions are louder than our words, and the way we live our lives are the essence in which we testify. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Holiday Season! Enjoy your break!

What an awesome poem!! My bloggy schedule has DEFINITELY been affected by the season (and here I thought I could do it all :)) I will most likely post less frequently over the next few weeks as well, its just too much! Enjoy your bloggy vaca!!

I have not seen this post, but thank you for sharing it. I also have pinned this. I believe that it’s so true, you have to live the words in order for people to heed the words. Everyday this year, I tried my best to be patient with my family and it was something very difficult to do, but I’m glad that I made it known to myself that it was something that I had to do.

We are all a work in progress…especially when it comes to patience…but with that’s how we progress. Isn’t it amazing that when we declare something to ourselves…we start to make changes.
